Gaelic 4 Girls
During the months of May and June, Fingal County Council’s Sports Office in partnership with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, will run a Gaelic4Girls programme at Mill Pond Green, (back of Church carpark) Balbriggan. This programme is targeted at 10-13 Year old primary school girls from the area, some of whom will never had played Gaelic football before and will learn the basics of the game in fun non-competitive environment.

Volleyball Training Programme
In partnership with County Dublin VEC, Volleyball Ireland and Fingal County Council’s Sports Office have developed a volleyball programme to train Youth Leaders and other suitable young participants in coaching the basics of Volleyball. This programme is supported by Irish Sports Council funding. The main objective is to establish a network among Youth Leaders for the training of volleyball. This programme was run on a pilot basis in Corduff, Blanchardstown and will be expanded across the Dublin 15 area.
Older Adult Sports
Aqua-fit Programmes are run in Sportslink, Santry and Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Centre. Participants must be over 55 years. .
Go for Life Pitch and Putt Programme
The Fingal Sports Office were successful in obtaining funding from Age and Opportunity Go for Life for a six week programme to be hosted by Ballyboughal Pitch and Putt Club. This programme will be open to residents in North Fingal who are over 55 years.

Women in Sports - Exercise Energise
Exercise Energise is an Afterschool initiative aimed at post primary schools in Fingal. The programme targets in-active teenage girls in first and second year.
Exercise Energise helps to reintroduce the girls into sport and creates a positive attitude towards physical activity. The programme is co-funded by Fingal County Council and the Irish Sports Council.
Athletics
2008 saw the introduction of the first ever county wide Cross-Country league in primary school athletics. This league was organised in partnership with Athletics Ireland and Fingal County Council’s Sports Section. Initially the programme was split into two separate leagues, based in Dublin 15 and North Fingal. The children participated in three race meets. As a reward for the hard work by students and teachers alike, a Final Race Day was organised for all the participating schools.

Blanchardstown Traveller Development Group
This project was set up by FCC in 2003, in partnership with the Blanchardstown Traveller Development Group (BTDG).
with the following aims
- aid personal development and self esteem amongst individuals participating in the programme
- introduce health related issues through a sporting medium
- initiate and promote inter-group competition in selected sports
- enjoyment, fun and co operation within the group

Disability Sports
Get Active, Be Inclusive Leader Training -
this is a training course for group leaders working with disability groups. The training provides leaders with basic games training that are suitable for children of all ages and abilities. The training course is supplemented with a Training manual for each participant.
Sporting Fingal Powerchair Football Club -
This is the first club of its kind in Fingal and was set up in conjunction with League of Ireland Football Club Sporting Fingal. The underlying values of Power Soccer are to encourage people with disabilities to get involved in a sport that they have an interest in. This action-packed team sport combines the skill of the wheelchair user with the speed and power of the chair itself in an extremely challenging game very similar to soccer. Powerchair football is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for power wheelchair users. Power Soccer is unisex by design, and male and female participants are often on the same team, as well as opposing sides The Club meets every second Saturday in Corduff Sports Centre from 11am – 1pm. New players are always welcome.
Badminton
Ladies Morning Club- The Fingal Ladies Morning Badminton Club meets every Wednesday in Baldoyle Badminton Centre from 10am – 12pm. The Club started in January 2009 and has grown in numbers every week. The aim of the club is all about promoting Badminton in a relaxed and fun environment where the emphasis is on participation.
Schools Projects- There are a number of school badminton blitzes and competitions ran throughout the year. These were run in conjunction with the Buntus Badminton Programme, if your school would like to get involved in School Badminton please contact Rachel Ormrod from Badminton Ireland

Late Night Soccer
Corduff- Late Night Soccer in Corduff started in April 2009 and finishes on the 29th May 2009 in Corduff Sports Centre. This programme has ran for the last three years in Corduff and has been well attended each year. Late Night Soccer is based on Futsal rules and is run over a six week period on a league basis.
Skerries- The Skerries Late Night Soccer programme from 26th June 2009 until 31st July 2009 in Skerries Community Centre Balbriggan
