The Community Office


The key role of the Community Office is to provide support to voluntary groups who work in a community development context.
The support can take the form of mentoring and consultancy, training and capacity building, policy development and strategic planning, management and committee skills training, community consultation, business plans and best practise advice. Financial support is given to community cultural and sports groups through the Activities and Capital Funding Schemes.


The Community Office works with groups that include:


Residents and tenants associations,
Facility management and building committees
Integrated Community/Schools Facilities committees
Groups that work with a community development approach
Statutary and Community partner groups
Voluntary community services for the elderly, drug users, the marginalised or socially excluded. 

  
The Community Office has five units:
The Community Development Unit.
The Community Facility Support Unit.
The Community Capital Projects Unit.
The Funding, Information and Events Unit
