Network Development Unit
Introduction
The Unit's role is to encourage, strengthen and support the development of networks of Communities of Interest throughout Fingal. Facilitating the sector representatives to come together and form a common agenda it is hoped that the networks will make a significant contribution to the development of policy and planning at county level. Networks in place include:
Senior Citizens Network
Environment Network
Heritage Network
Disability Network
Health Forum
Fingal Minority Ethnic Forum
Fingal Community Forum
The Fingal Community Forum was established in March 2000. It acts as the collective voice of the community and voluntary sector in Fingal County and elects community representatives to various local, regional and national decision-making bodies.
In 2003, the Fingal Community Forum made a wide range of submissions to various local and regional Strategic Plans including the County Development Plan and the Greater Dublin Area Regional Planning Guidelines. The Forum continues to sit on the County Development Board and plays a part in the implementation of the Strategy for Economic, Social & Cultural Development.
