The Community Development Unit supports groups to participate in social/ economic/ cultural development, groups who have difficulty in participating due to inadequate income, resources and opportunities. Groups supported include tenants and residents associations, ethnic minorities, homeless, women, senior citizens, disability groups, children at risk of poverty and groups who have a broad community development focus.
The Unit assists communities to develop their ideas, set targets and achieve them.
Supports the setting-up and developing of community groups and tenants associations and provides information, group training and educational sessions.
