One Click Digital Downloadable Audiobooks to replace EBSCOhost
From March 31st, 2012, EBSCOhost will no longer be available to members of Fingal County Council Library Service. One Click Digital will be our new provider of downloadable audiobooks straight to your PC or portable music player. Any users of EBSCOhost will have access until the end of March after which they will need to create a new account and switch over to the new service.
Creating a new account is simple and quick, just click here and amend your details. You are ready to download audio books straight away.
Audiobooks you can download for free
Library members can download audio books for free to a PC or Mac. With broadband access you can download the selected audio book, play it on your computer, or transfer it to your MP3 player, iPod, or even your mobile phone or smartphone.
Please note that this service now comes from OneClickdigital. The service delivered by EBSCO terminates 31st March 2012.
How to create a OneClickdigital account
All you need to do is go to the OneClickdigital website . If you are a new user you will need to create an account on the site.
How to download audiobooks
Once you have created your account, you can choose and download audiobooks.
It is best to install Media Manager - if you do not install it when you create your account, you can do so at any time once you have selected an item - there is a button on the same page. You do not have to download the software if you do not wish - it is possible to download audiobooks without it. You can change at any time by going to My Account and then Preferences.
If you are in a library you do not have access to Media Manager and must download manually.
Can I listen to the audiobooks on my player?
If you use Media Manager the files will play on all but some older devices.
Some audiobooks are protected to prevent copying. You cannot drag and drop these files direct to your player - they will not play. If you decide to download them to your computer first (without using Media Manager), double-click on the first track at which point you will be asked for your OneClickdigital login details, which grants you permission to play the audiobook and transfer it to your device if you wish.
