Join the Library
Membership of Fingal County Libraries is FREE and open to everyone. Membership entitles you to borrow the latest books, CDs, DVDs, Prints, and to access our growing online services, such as online databases, audiobooks, online language learning, and ebook service (forthcoming).
To join the library you need identification with your name and current address. A utility bill or a driving licence is the only acceptable proof of address.
* Adult membership is available to all over 18.
* If you are under 18 years, you need a guarantor to sign the application form.
* Young Adults 12 - 14 years need a parent/guardian present to sign the consent form for a Young Adult card.
* Junior borrowers need a parent/guardian as guarantor.
Visitors to Fingal can avail of a Reference card, which allows access to computer facilities.
For Online Registration, complete the form online, print or bring the assigned number and ID to the library to collect your card.
If you lose your Library Card please notify your local library as soon as possible so that we can stop any unauthorised use of your card.
To avail of the forthcoming SMS service, please update your contact details, i.e. current email and mobile contact information here. You will need you PIN number. Update your contact details
If you are only accessing audiobooks you can proceed with the details provided online, without having to physically visit the library.
What Can I Borrow?

Adult members can borrow up to TEN items and Junior members can borrow up to SIX items.
The loan period on most items is 3 weeks. Prints can be borrowed for 3 months
If there is a particular book or item you are looking for you can check our online catalogue to see if we have it. If the item you are looking for is out on loan at the moment, you can reserve it and if it is only available in another library, you can request it.

SMS will shortly be available to remind borrowers of outstanding loans and reserved items. Please ensure you supply current email and mobile contact informtation to avail of this new service.
