Allotments in Fingal

Over the last couple of years, growing your own food has become increasingly popular.

Many people are converting a part of their back garden into a growing space for vegetables

or are renting an allotment at a public or private allotment site.  

Fingal County Council manages more than 600 allotments at three sites;

•    Powerstown in Dublin 15
•    Turvey in Donabate (for more info see www.turveyallotments.com)
•    Skerries

Different sizes of allotments are available to cater for the different levels of experience with vegetable growing and time commitments.

Most plots are 10m x 10m, but there are also smaller starter plots of 5m x 5m.

In Turvey, larger plots of 20m x 10m are available for the more experienced allotment grower.

The prices for the allotments are the same at each scheme and are the following:

5m x 10m =     €50
10m x 10m = €100
20m x 10m=  €200

Interested in getting an allotment? Just fill in form AL1 below and return this to allotments@fingalcoco.ie or to Fingal County Council’s Parks Division, County Hall, Main Street, Swords, Co. Dublin. You will be placed on a waiting list for your preferred site and as soon as an allotment becomes available you will be notified.

Beside the Council allotment schemes, you can also approach the private allotment schemes in Fingal of course for a plot to grow some vegetables.
