Estuary Recycling Centre
The Estuary Recycling Centre opened to the public on 22nd June 2006. It is located beside Swords Business Park. The recycling centre is provided by the Council to allow the public to bring a wide range of items for recycling or disposal. The opening hours and details of waste and vehicles accepted on site are detailed below.

Please note: in very windy conditions the recycling centre may have to close for Health & Safety Reasons.
The recycling centre is for household use only. No refuse and no commercial waste will be accepted on site.
The recycling centre is located along the M1 Motorway and can be accessed from Mantua Road. Access from Swords is by driving past Woodies / Hertz towards the Estuary and turning right just after going under the Motorway bridge.

- Plastic bottles, washed & squashed, tops removed,
- Clean Plastic packaging (no expanded polystyrene),
- Clothes,
- WEEE: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (e.g. Fridge, Washing Machine, Cooker, TVs, VCR, kettle, toaster, etc),
- Fluorescent tubes and Energy-saving bulbs
- Car & household batteries,
- Paint tins,
- Pesticides & Herbicides,
- Aerosol cans,
- Medicines,
- Waste Engine Oil,
- Waste Cooking Oil.
Accepted with a charge (to pay in bin tags or by credit card):
- Bulky waste (e.g. Furniture, carpet),
- Wood,
- Metal,
- Green Waste (restricted to cars and small trailers),
- Construction & Demolition Waste (e.g. rubble, concrete blocks, stones, etc.)
Prices are set per vehicle as detailed below, to pay with €8 bin tags or by credit card only.
Car-boot: €8 (1 bin tag)
Car-full: €16 (2 bin tags)
Car-van / Car and small trailer (max. 6ft x 4ft x 2ft): €40 (5 bin tags)
Small van (max. 6 cubic meters / 212 cubic feet): €128 (16 bin tags) (not allowed for green waste)
Reduced prices apply for green waste.

This service is for household use only.
Compost bins can be purchased on site, to pay with bin tags. Standing compost bins cost €32, rotating compost bins cost €64, kitchen caddy €8.
