Grants for the Conservation of Protected Structures & Structures at Risk Fund

PLEASE NOTE: Due to reduced budgets the Conservation Grant Scheme has been paused indefiinitely.  A Structures at Risk Fund was introduced in the interim in 2011 and will operate again in 2012.

The purpose of the the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht's Structures at Risk Fund is to assist with works to safeguard structures protected under the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2011, and, in certain cases, works to safeguard structures within Architectural Conservation Areas, where, in the opinion of the Department, an urgent need for works to such structures has arisen and has been demonstrated. Only structures in immediate danger of significant deterioration will qualify for consideration for funding by the Department.  Application forms are available from the Fingal County Council (can be downloaded below) and completed forms must be returned to Fingal County Council for an initial assessment as due to the limited resources available for the operation of this fund (€500,000) each local authoirty can only submit to the Department a maximum of two applications.

Applications for assistance under the Structures at Risk Fund must be made to:

 Helena Bergin,

Conservation Officer,

Architects Department,

Fingal County Council,

County Hall,

Swords,

Co. Dublin.

The closing date for receipt of applications to Fingal County Council is 5pm on Fri 13th April 2012 in order to allow the local authority time to assess completed forms and submit the successful two applications to the Department before its closing date.
