Advance Notice of Pump Replacement at Offington
It will be necessary to turn off the water supply in the Offington area tomorrow between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm to facillitate the replacement of water pumps serving the Offington area. Every effort will be made to complete this essential replacement work as speedily as possible. Areas affected: Offington & Carrickbrack Estates and Old Castle Avenue. Some adjoining areas may also experience disruption.
Advance Notice of Upcoming Works relating to Malahide/Swords Road
Following completion of testing of the new improved pipeline on the Malahide Road it is now intended to link in all estates along the Malahide Road to this new main. This work is expected to be completed by the weekend. After today the final area to be done is Gainsborough. The tie in at this point involves a major piece of work and water supply will be disrupted to a considerable area. This work will be done over tomorrow or Friday, however water supply will only be turned off when the civil works have been completed and the tie in is about to be done. This disruption will of necessity come at relatively short notice but should only be for a limited time.
Works at Kettles Lane
Work has commenced to lay a new watermain 1.5km in length along Kettles Lane from the Swords Road entrance through to the bridge over the Motorway. This work is expected to last until mid June. The majority of the work will be carried out in the road shoulder however it may be necessary at stages to bring the work into the centre of the road. Appropriate traffic management measures are in place however it will at times be necessary to temporarily close the road and maintain local access only. Further updates on this project will be posted as work progresses.
Channel Road/Sandy Road, Rush - Possible Water Disruption (Sewer Upgrading Works )
Works have commenced to replace a sewer pipeline on Channel Road/Sandy Road in Rush. During the course of these works it has become apparent that the watermain serving the area is in very close proximity to the sewer pipeline that is being replaced which is causing problems in maintaining a normal water supply to the area. There will be occasions when the water pressure will have to be reduced in the area because of the excavations. Our Water Inspector will be liaising with the contractor in an effort to minimise disruption to the water supply as much as possible during the course of these works which will be ongoing for a number of weeks.
We apologise for any disruption caused to residents in these areas and we appreciate your patience while the works are being carried out.
