Fingal East Meath Flood Risk Assessment and Management Study

The Fingal area has suffered significant flooding over the last number of years, in particular during November 2000 and November 2002.  This high level of flooding risk has led Fingal County Council, along with the Office of Public Works (OPW) and Meath County Council to appoint Halcrow Barry Consulting Engineers to undertake the Fingal – East Meath Flood Risk Assessment Study (FEM-FRAMS).

The FEM-FRAMS project is one of the principal flood risk management studies being carried out in Ireland to meet the requirements of the EU Floods Directive. It is proposed to carry out a hydrological assessment of the watercourses in the FEM-FRAMS catchment which will be used to develop maps for the existing and potential future flood hazard.
