SnowDid you know that a bath uses way more water than an ordinary shower? A bath uses about 90 litres of water, a quick shower might use 30 to 40 litres. By having a shower every day instead of a bath, you could save about 400 litres of water every week.

TRollWater drops high up in clouds can freeze and form ice crystals. These crystals can join together to form bigger crystals. When big enough they fall to earth as snowflakes. All snowflakes have six sides and no two are exactly the same. Snowflakes have been seen that are the size of a big dinner plate.

Did you know that on average a family of four flush the toilet 7,500 times a year? Toilets use up about 30% of indoor water use. On average 20% of toilets leak, so get your toilet fixed and save water. (Fix the dripping taps too. Dripping taps and leaking loos account for about 14% of indoor water use. By fixing these you could save 35 litres of water every day). Also, don’t use your loo as a trash can, only flush it when you need to.

Did you know that the amount of water a garden sprinkler uses in one hour could provide the same amount of water as a family of four for a whole day ? Use a watering can instead, or collect rain water in buckets and use for watering the garden. Water the garden plants late in the day when the sun is gone down, this reduces the amount of water that turns into water vapour. Check the weather forecast, it might rain tomorrow!
