3 Year Capital Programme
The Local Government Act 2001 requires the Manager to prepare and submit to the Elected Council a report indicating proposed capital projects for the following 3 years. This is in effect a 3 year rolling Capital Budget covering principally infrastructural projects such as housing construction, national roads, water/waste water treatment works.
A Capital Works Programme is drawn up each year which shows the major projects/schemes that we propose to provide over the next three years. The progress of the projects relies heavily on the availability of Exchequer/EU funding and loans supplemented by development levies and internal resources. The Capital Works Programme is normally presented to the Elected Members at the November Council Meeting. The current programme shows the proposed works for the years 2008 to 2010.
