Dangerous Structures and Derelict Sites

The Council is responsible under the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1964 and the Derelict Sites Act, 1990 to serve a notice on the owner of a site or structure when a complaint is made that a structure is dangerous or that a site is derelict.  These notices require the owner of the site or structure to make them safe and secure so that they are not a risk to members of the public. Where possible the Council will attempt to contact the owners before serving official notices.
