2017 Funding for Repairs/Conservation Works to Protected Structures or Structures Within an Architectural Conservation Area
Fingal County Council is now accepting applications for three schemes to carry out repairs to Protected Structures, and in certain cases, works to structures within Architectural Conservation Areas. Generally the amount of funding awarded cannot exceed 50% of the cost of works up to a maximum amount under each of the schemes (so the cost of works will need to be double the amounts set out). The closing date for receipt of applications for all three schemes is by 5pm on Tuesday 28th February 2017. Application forms along with relevant supplementary material should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org in either Word or pdf format. The size of the email should not exceed 15MB.
STRUCTURES AT RISK FUND (SRF) - Level of Funding: Minimum €15,000 - Maximum €30,000
SRF is a national scheme for urgent works to safeguard Protected Structures and in certain cases, works to structures within Architectural Conservation Areas. Only structures in immediate danger of significant deterioration will qualify for consideration for funding. Fingal County Council facilitates the initial applications but the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs operates and determines the final list of nationwide projects to be granted funding. The Department will consider only 2 applications per local authority ( a 3rd application can be made if it relates to an Irish Historic House in private ownership) .

BUILT HERITAGE INVESTMENT SCHEME (BHIS) - Level of Funding: Minimum €2,500 - Maximum €10,000
BHIS is a scheme operated by each local authority to assist with the repair and conservation of Protected Structures, and in certain cases, works to structures within Architectural Conservation Areas. Fingal County Council has a fund of €50,000 to allocate in 2017 and so applications will be assessed and prioritised on the basis of: Significance of the Structure; Effectiveness of the Works; Employment Benefits.
