How Do I Vote?

Introduction

In order to be able to vote at an election or referendum in Ireland, a person's name must be entered on the register of electors for the locality in which the elector ordinarily resides.

A person eligible to vote but not yet registered as an elector still has time to apply for entry in the register of electors for the upcoming electoral events that are due to take place on Friday 7th June 2024.

Last Date for applications to register to vote on Friday 7th June 2024 is Monday 20th May 2024

Last Date for applications for Special/Postal Votes is Saturday 11th May 2024

The electoral registration process is set down in the Electoral Acts 1992 to 2022 and was significantly amended by the Electoral Reform Act 2022
